The early bird vs. the night owl

"I am neither an early bird nor a night owl. I am some form of permanently exhausted pigeon" is a quote that I've seen a few times and always makes me laugh. It's just so relevant to me! Back at school and college I was a bit of a night owl, I'd go to bed super late and then struggle the next morning. Quite often those nights were productive, tidying my room or writing my essays. Sometimes it was just dancing around my room to my favourite songs! That was when my brain was most awake, and there were fewer distractions because everyone else was asleep! Same for most of uni. There were more than a couple of times (read: about 100 times) that I'd stay up to 3am finishing essays due in the next day. Maybe part of my being a night owl comes from not being so good at time management... If it's got a deadline, you can bet I'm not getting it done before then! Last minute Larry right here 🙋 My mornings therefore, on days I didn't absolutely have to get up,...

Slow down, take your time

There's even a statue showing a busy person rushing around London! Everyone is always rushing, especially in London. I've found one of the best ways to keep myself calm and more positive is to slow down. Just taking a little bit more time to think, to do things, to relax, really helps me stay present and more peaceful.

5 things: TV programmes I'm loving!

Having gotten into a new TV series recently (cough cough Love Island), as well as using Netflix to get me through long journeys while I was travelling, I thought it seemed a good time for a post on the TV programmes I'm enjoying right now! I've never been hugely into TV - of course there are programmes that I love, but I'm not a sit down to watch TV at 7 on a Monday every week so I don't miss a second of the show type of person. Unless it's Great British Bake Off...

I did it!

I did it! I got a job!  I spent hours trawling through job search websites and thinking about Who I Am and What I Should Do, and many more hours filling in application forms and writing cover letters, BUT it all paid off in the end! I have now taken the leap of faith into adulthood and started something new. I'm nervous and slightly bewildered by it all but mostly excited to see what's coming!

Too busy to blog?!

If that wasn't an almost immediate failure I don't know what is! I have been super busy since deciding to start a blog and honestly totally forgot about it while I was away! BUT that does mean I've got lots to write about now and some great pics for the 'gram!

I hate packing

I've never been good at packing. I just don't like it.  I  want  to travel light, and take only the essentials, but I  need  to make sure I've got extra clothes, shoes, shampoo, wetwipes, books etc just in case. I've definitely gotten better over time as I've been on more trips and moved house a few times, but it's still something I dread. Does it take anyone else at least 3 days to properly pack and be happy with what you've got in your bag??! 😣

Feeling 22

Sorry for the radio silence recently, things have been pretty busy! In the last two weeks I have celebrated my birthday, flown to Singapore and explored and then flown to Melbourne to begin my month in Australia! So far I've had a pretty good time being 22!
