5 things: TV programmes I'm loving!

Having gotten into a new TV series recently (cough cough Love Island), as well as using Netflix to get me through long journeys while I was travelling, I thought it seemed a good time for a post on the TV programmes I'm enjoying right now! I've never been hugely into TV - of course there are programmes that I love, but I'm not a sit down to watch TV at 7 on a Monday every week so I don't miss a second of the show type of person. Unless it's Great British Bake Off...

I have a big family and always had a busy schedule growing up, so the chances of getting time to watch TV at the same time every week and all my sisters wanting to watch the same thing too were pretty slim. Since getting my laptop and the advent of Netflix however, things have changed a little. Friends is very often playing somewhere near me (especially now it's on the UK Netflix - love that!) and I think it will always hold top spot for me, but here's some other programmes I've been enjoying recently:

1) Suits
Fans of How to Get Away with Murder and other law-type programmes will love this! Fast-paced, witty humour, clever and featuring a great cast (including our new member of the Royal Family!). Harvey Spectre doesn't always play by the rules, but does always get results and Mike might just be following in his footsteps. Definitely worth a watch! I'm on Season 2 and still loving it. Only time will tell if I'll stick out all 6 seasons!

2) Unabomber
Every time we sit down to watch TV my boyfriend and I spend longer deciding on what to watch and than watching whatever we pick! So we've decided to get into some series' together, and this was top of our list.

Unabomber is a Netflix original series that had us hooked within the first five minutes. Evil genius chased by FBI's best sounds like it's been done before, but this is something else! It focuses on the messages we send out to the world - it's very clever and very good.

3) Gilmore Girls
I have loved this programme for as long as I remember. It's the best mix of funny, dramatic, heart-warming, sad, friendships, family and more. Lorelai and Rory have such a close relationship which I can relate to, but on the other hand she's a single mum with an only child - and that's so different to my life! It's easy watching and there's an episode for all moods. Not to mention the theme song is fab!

4) Brooklyn 99

For anyone who wants a laugh, I'd definitely recommend the 99! It's a similar humour to that of Friends, New Girl and Friday Night Dinner. I personally think this series would appeal to everyone, because each character is unique and has a different sense of humour. My boyfriend got me into it and I made it through 3 seasons while travelling! It got me through some very long bus journeys.

5) Gogglebox

I love this show! When I first heard that there was a TV show where you could watch people watch TV I thought 'that sounds crap' but omg was I wrong! It's just so funny! The producers have done a great job of casting people who are entertaining to watch. For anyone who doesn't believe me, just look at Scarlett Moffat now, on Saturday Night Takeway! It's also a great way to catch up on the week's TV or find out about new programmes.

Side note:
I know I said I'm not an avid TV watcher but Love Island really had me hooked this year! I've never watched it before, and only started half way through the series this year but I do love a good bit of drama. It was like uni life squished into an hour a night! I'm so happy Jack and Dani won, they both seem so sweet and totally deserved it! I even tuned in for the reunion!

What are your favourite TV shows? Any recommendations?
